Verified Reviewer |I bought a Collie from them and he was great!!!!
To warm other potential customers
We contacted Danielle two separate times with an application from her website. (2 years apart).
First time, no response at all in 2019)Second time, in April 2022, she finally responded with an e mail after one week. Her e mail was 5 paragraphs long and full of information and pics of 2 available puppies. we felt confident that wed found a good breeder. We responded immediately and said wed like to come visit at her kennel. No reply.
Sent another short e mail in case first didnt go through. Nothing. Called her after finding her # and left a VM. No response.
Sent one more e mail several days later and still no response. Finally, after all that she sent a short e mail saying one of her pups diagnosed with cancer. She hoped we found another breeder. ( as I told her we were now looking elsewhere) She lost a sale and potential great home for a puppy.
After reading the reviews here, Im fortunate she didnt respond sooner , as it seems she has issues with communication. Her website is very slick with beautiful pics of her pups and farm. However, communication is key in any transaction.
She fails miserably at that. Dont advertise if you cant deliver!!
User's recommendation: Don’t waste your time with this breeder.

Verified ReviewerDO NOT CHOOSE AMMARDAN BC
Ive always been told to not get a dog from a breeder. After doing research I came across Ammardan Border Collies out of Ohio, owner being Danielle Nash.
I was reading reviews and people were stating she was taking puppies from their mothers way before the recommended 8wks. I reached out and she had 11wk old puppies so I didnt think anything of it. MY MISTAKE. We met up with her, got our puppy and in the process she said that she would mail our check out to the AKC for us so that way it gets done.
Which leads me to why I am here. We sent out our AKC check and no update. Checked to see if it was cashed, nothing. Weve had our puppy for two months.
I emailed her, no response. I am disgusted in the way she operates. She was SO SO adamant about HER registering our puppy when it was something as simple as us just doing it ourselves. It is OUR dog therefore our responsibility.
I would never recommend getting a dog from Danielle. There are far more cleaner and professional places to get your puppy from.
Save yourself the headache, money and time. It is not worth your $1,500.

Border Collie
One of the most responsible breeders I have ever met.
My dog is healthy and intelligent!!
Hey, I have my baby boy Odin from mom's dauchounds almost a year now. I can say, he is highly intelligent, healthy and one of the most well behaved dogs I have ever had the pleasure to be around.
When meeting the breeder her and her husband were kind with a clean home especially for having around 15-20 adult dauchounds. To have a litter at most times Is not unreasonable with that many dogs. They claimed to give a full year between mothers births(AT A MINIMUM).
Either way you see it, Odin is constantly out performing in health, intellect, and character then any dog I have met. He knew how to fetch when I got him at 6 weeks...
MOMS DASHOUNDS !!
Beware of Ammardan Kennels and Moms Dachshunds
Look up the details of puppy mills and decide for yourself. This breeder constantly breeds dogs and ALWAYS has puppies available. When asked questions about their Border Collies' hips, they cannot provide the OFA numbers for most of their dogs. Do not be deceived as the dogs listed on the website are only a sample of the many dogs that they have in her posession (75-100 at a time including available puppies). When you go to look at a puppy, often the parents and/or other multitudes of litters are being kept at her relative's or Mom's house so you will not be able to see all of the dogs that Ammardan has and they will always hold back 2 or sometimes 3 from each litter to add to their profit making scheme. Ammardan breeds before the dogs are even 2 years old, which is the minimum age for the OFA requirements. Do not trust this breeder. They have been known to breed Whippets, Border Collies, Poodles, Dachshunds, and also offers pets that are "rescued" for a hefty fee. This breeder is also affiliated under "MomsDachshunds."
Ammardan has had Border Collie hip ratings as "Pending" who ALREADY HAVE PUPPIES ON THE GROUND. Then when the dogs cannot be bred anymore, they are conveniently re-homed. Why do these breeders claim on their websites that dogs are a lifetime commitment yet they cannot make that commitment to their own canines?
Below are two points from a website that lists warning signs for potential puppy mills. Research and decide for yourself.
?The numbers don’t add up. If there is only one or two people at the location but dozens of dogs, it would seem impossible to think each dog gets proper care, exercise and socialization. Unless they work in shifts or have a system for individualized care, ask them to explain their process or check for other signs listed here.
?The breeding parents are not available or kept offsite. So basically their site is where the puppies get dropped off every time the parents breed, and this can also be a sign that the parents are kept in horrible conditions or are being forced to breed with every heat cycle.
?Advertisements are constantly in the newspaper classifieds, on fliers passed out in public places or listed on the internet to buy puppies from the same person or organization.
?An organization listed as a rescue is selling puppies in large numbers or always seems to have them available.
Ammardan Puppy Mill
Having worked with animal rescue organizations for many years I felt it my duty to bring attention to the questionable operation practiced at Ammardan Kennels… My daughter bought her Whippet from this breeder, believing that the kennels were legitimate. She was promised that the papers would be posted, they never were, the breeder Danielle Nichols was almost impossible to get hold of after the purchase, eventually when she did track her down she told my daughter that she had posted the papers and my daughter must have lost them.
The puppy appeared to have a cold but Ms Nichols told my daughter it was nothing, just the cold weather making the puppy's nose run, it wasn't, the puppy was quite sick and had other problems that involved surgery to correct. The breeder wanted nothing to do with it, saying the puppy was sold "As Is". When my daughter started to investigate this operation further she became very suspicious of a puppy mill operation. My advice would be NOT to buy a puppy from these kennels or "Moms Dachshunds" another breeder associated with this kennel (D.
Nichols Mother) without doing extensive research first. Start by looking up Ammardan Kennels on Google and read the reviews.
Also beware of their "Puppy Guarantee & Condition of Sale" I found it completely shocking.
Do your research please before dealing with these people. We found no absolute proof that this is a puppy mill operation, the people involved were very evasive, but there were enough discrepancies to give weight to our suspicions.
The disgraceful treatment my daughter received on its own is enough to recommend that people avoid this operation.
